Why QuickTime Won’t Play MP4 on Mac? If so, why Mac QuickTime won’t play MP4 files sometimes? According to Apple Support Website, QuickTime can only support MPEG-4 (.mp4,.m4v), but MP4 is a complex video container with various video and audio codecs. That’s why sometimes QuickTime plays MP4 well, sometimes doesn’t. WMA is a format that belongs to Windows systems. If you are a Mac user and want to open WMA files on Mac, say, with QuickTime, you may get disappointed because QuickTime doesn't natively open WMA format. In fact, QuickTime player only supports a limited number of audio formats including iTunes Audio files (.m4a,.m4b,.m4p), MP3, AIFF, AU, WAV.

Hi guys,
I'm using the latest versione of OBS for streaming, but when I open my streaming recorded file, QuickTime on Mac says that the file is damaged. I've tried to open in iMovie (latest version) and the video is ok, but there is no audio. But, if I open the file on Windows with Windows Media Player everything is fine. I need to be able to use my video on my iMac.
My stream settings:
CBR: enabled;
Padding CBR: enabled;
Quality: 10;
Max BitRate: 2800;
Buffer: 2800;
Codec Audio: AAC;
BitRate: 160;
Format: 44.1khz
Advanced - Video
x264 CPU Schema: veryfast;
x264 codec: high;
CFR: enabled;
This problem came out with the latest versione of the software.
Thanks,
